Bella vittoria dei Toronto Raptors contro i Minnesota Timberwolves nella partita di questa notte, finita col punteggio di 112-105 a favore dei canadesi.
I Raptors sono stati trascinati da un grande Kyle Lowry, autore di 40 punti, stabilendo il nuovo record di franchigia per punti segnati in una partita di pre-season (il record apparteneva a Vince Carter, che ne aveva segnati 38). Il playmaker ha avuto una serata eccezionale in termini di percentuali al tiro, mettendone 13 su 18 tentativi totali, di cui 3 da oltre l’arco.
“Mi sono sentito a mio agio in tutta la partita,” ha dichiarato Lowry a caldo. “Devo riuscire ad essere costante: iniziare bene e finire bene. Comunque è solo una partita di pre-season.”
Per i T’wolves, invece, grande prova per lo scorso rookie of the year, Andrew Wiggins, autore di 21 punti in appena 18 minuti.
Nella nottata sono da segnalare anche le prime due apparizioni a Toronto, con la maglia della propria città natale, di Cory Joseph (14 punti) e Anthony Bennet (3 punti).
Il playmaker ex Spurs ha parlato così a caldo, nel post partita:
“Ero molto emozionato di giocare di fronte alla mia famiglia, ai miei tifosi e ai miei amici. […] C’è tantissima passione qui a Toronto.”
