Nei giorni scorsi era circolata la voce di un possibile interessamento della Virtus Bologna nei confronti di Serge Ibaka. Il lungo dei Milwaukee Bucks sarà un free agent quest’estate e quindi potrà decidere dove andare a giocare la prossima stagione. Nel caso Ibaka dovesse andare a Bologna, non sarebbe la sua prima esperienza europea della carriera. Infatti il 32enne originario del Congo ha giocato con le maglie di Basquet Manresa e Real Madrid prima di arrivare in NBA.
Nonostante queste voci sembra che, secondo Emiliano Carchia di Sportando, sarà molto difficile vedere l’ex giocatore dei Magic con la maglia delle V Nere la prossima stagione. Infatti, oltre al fatto che non è ancora stata formalizzata un’offerta al giocatore da parte della Virtus, una fonte molto vicina al giocatore ha annunciato che Ibaka giocherà ancora oltreoceano il prossimo anno. “Serge giocherà in NBA la prossima stagione,” ha detto la fonte.
Il campione NBA nel 2019 con i Toronto Raptors è reduce da quella che, togliendo quella da rookie, è la peggior stagione della sua carriera. Ibaka ha viaggiato a 6.8 punti e 4.8 rimbalzi di media nelle 54 partite giocate tra Bucks e Los Angeles Clippers. Nei playoffs di quest’anno, Serge Ibaka ha giocato solamente 6 partite con i Bucks. Il nativo di Brazzaville ha viaggiato a 1.5 punti e 1.7 rimbalzi di media in 3.7 minuti a partita.
