Per il ventiduesimo turno di LBF è andata in scena la sfida fra Repower Sanga Milano e Oxygen Roma Basket. La sfida ha messo in palio due punti fondamentali per entrambi: Milano per risalire una classifica molto pericolosa che la vede all’ultimo posto ex aequo con la O.ME.PS Battipaglia, mentre la Oxygen per trovare i punti necessari per allontanare lo spettro del play-out, serie di partite che la Nicole Romeo e compagne vogliono assolutamente evitare.
La squadra di coach Vincenzo di Meglio si è presentata al Bocconi Sports Center con una grande notizia: il rientro di Dalma Czukor. L’ala ungherese, vittima di un severo infortunio alla caviglia nella trasferta contro la Passalacqua Ragusa, è stata una della protagoniste della stagione delle romane.
Sanga Milano – Oxygen Roma: l’analisi della partita
La posta in palio era altissima: due punti cruciali per la stagione. Non c’è da sorprendersi quindi di vedere una partita molto equilibrata, con le due squadre che nel primo tempo si inseguono a vicenda non riuscendo mai a trovare la fuga.
Roma parte forte, trascinata da Leia Dongue ed Egle Sventoraite ( molto abili sia nella fase offensiva che in quella difensiva) ma Milano si affida alle mani di Quinn Dornstauder, autrice di 28 punti e 10 rimbalzi. Ne nasce una partita molto difensiva, con le squadre che sbagliano a causa del nervosismo e che approfittano molto degli errori altrui. Da segnalare poi, l’atteggiamento mentale: le squadre vanno in bonus rapidamente. Il primo tempo si chiude con un parziale complessivo di 30-28, con le due squadre consapevoli di invertire la marcia nel secondo tempo.
Di ritorno dagli spogliatoio, Roma sale in cattedra grazie anche a Dalma Czukor ed Ezinne Kalu, La lunga ungherese, di ritorno dall’infortunio, sfodera una prestazione grandiosa con 16 punti e 4 rimbalzi. La guardia statunitense di passaporto nigeriano, si prende la scena con 16 punti e 4 assist. Roma, che fa girare benissimo il pallone (15 assist di squadra) alza la muraglia anche in difesa, consapevole di poter vincere la partita. Ecco quindi che Sventoraite firma una delle sue migliori prestazioni stagionali. Certo, solo 8 punti e 6 rimbalzi. Eppure, la lituana è onnipresente sottocanestro e sfruttando la sua fisicità, riduce di gran lunga le possibilità offensive di Milano.
A prendersi l’MVP è però Leia Dongue. Con 16 punti e 13 rimbalzi, la doppia doppia della mozambicana si rivela decisiva per la Oxygen che trova nell’ex Logroño un faro in una partita complicatissima a livello tecnico e mentale. Al netto del punteggio infatti, la partita si è risolta solo nel quarto quarto con l’affondo decisivo della Oxygen.
Il nervosismo, come detto, è stata una delle chiavi della partita. A fine partita si contano ben 22 falli di squadra per Milano e 20 per Roma. Falli che portano a tiri liberi. Dalla linea della carità, Milano è molto più precisa di Roma realizzandone 14 su 16 con Roma che si ferma a 14 su 22. Al tiro dal campo, le due squadre si equivalgono con il 24 su 58 di Roma ed il 21 su 49 delle meneghine.
Roma esce da questa partita con due punti fondamentali. Manca adesso una manciata di partite, dove Roma deve dare tutto per blindare il piazzamento salvezza. Di Meglio e le sue ragazze sanno come fare.
