L’Italbasket dopo il grave episodio di Danilo Gallinari nel corso della finale della Trentino Cup contro l’Olanda, sta preparando da oggi fino al 13 agosto la seconda parte della sua preparazione in vista dell’imminente EuroBasket 2017. Agli ordini di coach Messina, alla sua seconda e ultima spedizione sulla panchina della nazionale italiana, Belinelli e compagnia cantante preparano l’attesissimo esordio con i padroni di casa di Israele, nonostante la federazione abbia già deciso il prossimo commissario tecnico. Pochi minuti fa la federazione italiana ha deciso che sarà Meo Sacchetti a succedere al vice allenatore dei San Antonio Spurs alla guida della nazionale italiana.
Meo Sacchetti: il suo glorioso passato con la maglia azzurra
L’allenatore pugliese, dopo l’infelice esperienza sulla panchina di Brindisi nella passata stagione, inizierà la prossima stagione sulla panchina della Vanoli Cremona, dopo un grande passato sia da giocatore che da allenatore.
Con la maglia azzurra Meo Sacchetti si è reso protagonista dell’oro europeo di Nantes ’84, e soprattutto dell’argento olimpico di Mosca ’80 sotto la guida del mitico Sandro Gamba.
L’ex allenatore campione d’Italia con la Dinamo Sassari nel 2015, vince la concorrenza di Stefano Sacripanti e Maurizio Buscaglia, ma anche dell’illustrissimo Sasha Djordjevic attuale commissario tecnico della Serbia e comincerà il suo incarico in vista della qualificazioni al Mondiale del 2019.
