Gordon Hayward si è ritirato quest’estate, dopo aver giocato per gli Oklahoma City Thunder.
Di recente è stato ospite del programma di GoJo e Golic, dove ha parlato, appunto, della sua ex squadra e del loro nucleo interno con cui ha giocato prima di ritirarsi.
“Hanno i pezzi giusti e il talento per riuscirci. Credo che spetterà a loro capire esattamente cosa fare. Bisogna fare squadra, non si può cercare di competere tra loro e non insieme. Lo abbiamo fatto spesso con i Boston Celtics, siamo quasi andati in competizione l’uno contro l’altro per cercare di brillare di più e avere successo individualmente” ha ammesso. “I Thunder hanno certamente il talento giusto, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander è un giocatore formidabile, poi ci sono Chet Holmgren e Jalen Williams, con il loro nucleo e la loro cultura, che puntano a vincere. Quindi, finché rimarranno concentrati sulla vittoria, credo che saranno in grado di fare un grande salto di qualità”.
Quando invece gli è stato chiesto se alla squadra manca qualcosa, Hayward ha detto che pensa che OKC non abbia grossi difetti.
“No, non credo che gli manchi qualcosa. Penso che sia necessaria un po’ di esperienza, che si può ottenere solo giocando. Devi solo passare vari step, e penso che l’anno scorso sia stato importante per loro. E quindi potranno continuare a migliorare sempre di più, credo. E poi, non si può prendere il virus degli infortuni. Bisogna rimanere in salute”.
